Outreach Advocate

Outreach Advocates provide direct support and advocacy to individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. They offer crisis intervention, safety planning, and resource referrals while empowering survivors to make informed decisions. The role includes conducting community outreach, raising awareness, and building partnerships with organizations, law enforcement, and healthcare providers. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and knowledge of trauma-informed care are essential.

Legal Advocate

Legal Advocates help survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other gender-based violence navigate the legal system. They explain legal rights and processes, assist with documentation and evidence collection, and provide court accompaniment and advocacy to ensure survivors’ voices are heard. The position requires strong knowledge of legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to survivor safety and empowerment.

Shelter Staff

Shelter Staff create a safe, supportive environment for survivors and their children in a residential setting. They provide compassionate care, crisis intervention, and advocacy; assist residents with safety planning and goal setting; and coordinate resources such as legal aid, housing assistance, and counseling. Responsibilities also include maintaining shelter security, case management, and accurate documentation. Empathy, teamwork, and the ability to handle crisis situations are key.
