Children's Advocacy Center (CAC)
CACs provide an age appropriate and secure environment for child disclosures of sexual and physical abuse. Trained, professional staff work with the child so he/she may tell their story. CACs coordinate multi-disciplined team efforts in the investigation and prosecution of child sex and physical abuse cases. The CAC also works to provide or refer important follow-up services, such as counseling, for the child and other resources for non-offending family members.
The CAC is a community of caring people coming together to bring hope back to child victims of sexual abuse. In 2010, CACs in Louisiana provided services to over 4,000 children.
